Eldra Gennings | Clinical Operations Manager

My career with UC Health Primary Care began in December 2010 at our former Christ Hospital–UC Department of Family Medicine residency clinic. At the time, I had no idea this experience would shape my future with the Family Medicine Residency at the UC Health West Chester Hospital campus.

I started my journey at the front desk as a Patient Services Representative, warmly welcoming patients into the clinic. From there, I became a Medical Assistant, and in 2018 I joined the Family Medicine office at West Chester as a Physician Coordinator. I was later promoted to Clinical Operations Supervisor and following our “Journey to Better” initiative in 2023, I assumed my current role as Clinic Operations Manager. In this role, I manage regional operations for the West Chester Internal Medicine and Pediatrics practices as well as the Family Medicine Residency program.

In 2017, I was diagnosed with anal cancer and became a survivor — an experience that profoundly shaped my vision and commitment as a healthcare leader. It reinforced the importance of compassion, resilience, and perspective in every decision I make as a middle manager supporting our patients, staff, and residents.

Healthcare has always been part of my family’s story. My mother retired from UC Health as a Registered Nurse in Same Day Surgery, and my son also became a Registered Nurse, first at UC before relocating to Chicago. I’m proud to carry forward that legacy in my own way.

I am also the proud parent of three adult children. My team lovingly refers to me as the “Momager” — someone who offers hugs, encouragement, or tough love when needed. I like to think of myself as a little unconventional, but always engaged — keeping a close pulse on our practices, our patients, and our people.
